Last updated: 23 May 2026

MacMaster Design respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information responsibly and in line with United Kingdom data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit macmasterdesign.com or place an order with us, what we do with it, how we keep it safe, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who we are

MacMaster Design is the controller of the personal information you provide to us. Our trading address is The Guildings, Trimpley, Bewdley, Worcestershire, DY12 1PG, United Kingdom, and our VAT number is GB 112291455. You can reach us at any time using the contact details at the end of this policy.

2. The information we collect

We collect and use the following types of information:

  • Contact information: such as your name, email address, postal address and telephone number, which you give us when you enquire, request a quotation, or place an order.
  • Order information: including details of the products you have ordered, delivery addresses, special requirements and any correspondence relating to your order.
  • Payment information: is handled by our payment providers. We do not store full card details on our systems.
  • Marketing preferences: if you have asked us to send you news, lookbooks, or product updates.
  • Website usage information: collected automatically when you visit our site, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. This is gathered through cookies and similar technologies, which we describe in our Cookie Policy.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries, prepare quotations and confirm specifications.
  • To process and deliver your order, including passing necessary details to our couriers and installers.
  • To take payment and issue invoices and receipts.
  • To keep you informed about the progress of your order and any matters affecting delivery or lead time.
  • To provide aftercare under our 2-year guarantee.
  • To keep accounting and tax records as required by law.
  • To send marketing communications to which you have opted in to receive.
  • To improve our website, products and customer service.

4. Our lawful bases for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Performance of a contract when we process your information to fulfil your order, deliver products and provide aftercare.
  • Legitimate interests for the day-to-day running of our business, including responding to enquiries, improving our website, preventing fraud and keeping our customer records up to date. We always balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
  • Legal obligation for tax, accounting and other regulatory requirements.
  • Consent for marketing communications and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted third parties who help us run our business, and only to the extent they need it. The main service providers we currently rely on are:

  • Stripe: our payment processor, which handles card and bank transactions on our behalf. Stripe collects and processes payment information directly under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/gb/privacy).
  • GoDaddy: our website hosting provider, which stores the data that powers macmasterdesign.com. GoDaddy’s privacy policy is available at godaddy.com/legal/agreements/privacy-policy.
  • Google Analytics: provided by Google, which helps us understand how visitors use our website. Where you have given consent, anonymised information about your visit is processed in line with Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
  • Couriers and logistics providers who deliver your order. We pass them only the details they need to deliver to you, such as your name, address and a contact number.
  • Professional advisers such as our accountants and, if needed, lawyers.
  • Government bodies, regulators or law enforcement where we are required to do so by law (for example, HMRC for tax purposes).

Each of these recipients is either an independent controller for the data we share or is contractually required to keep your information secure and to use it only for the purposes we have agreed.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we make sure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, so your information continues to be protected.

7. How long do we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. As a guide:

  • Order and invoicing records are kept for at least 7 years to satisfy HMRC requirements.
  • Enquiry correspondence is kept for up to 3 years after our last contact with you.
  • Marketing data is kept until you ask us to stop or your subscription becomes inactive.

When the retention period ends, we securely delete or anonymise the information.

8. Keeping your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we do everything we reasonably can to keep your data safe.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • Access – to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Rectification – to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure – to ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
  • Restriction – to ask us to limit how we use your information.
  • Portability – to ask for a copy of your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection – to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent – where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month.

10. Marketing

We will only send you marketing communications if you have asked to receive them. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also tell us at any time that you would like to stop receiving them.

11. Children

Our products and website are not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we may have done so, please contact us so that we can delete the information.
